![]() ![]() It can be broken with enough damage but it can lead to very dangerous consequences. Glass that leads to the vacuum outside of the ship. The only hazard ingame that does this is the Tourist, and it's more like an enemy then a hazard. A good shooting hazard still gives you the opportunity to be more aggressive while having the choice of using it for stealth/ against enemies. Shooting hazards are types of obstacles that makes you think twice on when and where you want to shoot/hide. Below are my ideas that I think could help. But the main problem inside the game is that when you get stronger late game, you become practically invincible even against enemies like the Zec and Screw. The Gameplay is definitely really good inside the game, with a misc of stealth and action that you don't really see often. Anyways what I mean is the Citizens hold tons of info that will leave many heads stratching. There is also the questions of why do the citizens have different forms? Why do some more powerful and beefier then the rest? Why do some citizens combine into one entity (patients, outpatients) while others gain super abilities (Zec, Spook, etc)? There are tons of more questions that can be asked but it would fill up way to much of this page. It is implied that the gene twisters corrupt regular citizens over time to the monsters we see, but it doesn't answer the question to why the clients only change slightly even after being affected by the gene twisters hundreds to thousands of times. The Citizens are the main enemy and biggest mystery of the game so far. ![]() If the Nebula was explored more we could possibility encounter new friends, enemies and tons of stories! The Nebula also gives rise to other questions like "where are all the planets/moons?", "Are there any aliens?", etc, etc. We never encounter any live humans/creatures (excluding the pirates) so it is theorized that they are either near the top of the Nebula or just not in this galaxy. We currently only see a tiny fraction of the Nebula since the game takes place near the bottom of it near the 'corruption'. It seemingly reaches indefinitely as you can travel miles and miles of space without an end in sight. The Nebula is the galaxy the game takes place in. I could see this organization being more prevalent and having the chance to be either extremely chaotic, terrifying or both. The "crimes" in the game are usually either minuscule or just bad timing for them to receive lifetime imprisonment in a bag as chips. Subtle clues inside the game show that that the WCG is a large power hungry organization that takes prisoners to anyone they want. You also go through the game and encounter tons of WCG owned ships that usually hold some of the strongest enemies. The WCG has a massive presence in Void Bastards with the entire campaign about you trying to become a citizen (not corrupted) and leave the WCG prison. Maybe we could explore the backstory of the Captain and WCG? Or maybe we could befriend the captain and her crew? The possibilities are endless with what can happen. These characters shows a tiny glimpse of what can be explored in an actual story mode with characters as charming as these two. ![]() The Captain also seems to have a connection to the WCG, but it its never explicitly stated in-game. Both characters have unique personalities that bounce off each other really well. Multiple times in the game we listen to two pirates (a Captain and Worker) talk about stopping the clients from fixing the Void Ark. The game has massive potential and could rival many popular games if properly worked and utilized.īelow I've come up with different ideas that can potentially help the game in both the short term and long run. ![]() TLDR: Void Bastards content is really lackluster in its current state. Void Bastards could honestly stand up to games like Borderlands and Bioshock if it really used its potential. This game has HUGE potential but currently it barely scratches the surface of what it can really do. The game also progresses like it has a main campaign with a proper finisher, but it really leaves you on a unsatisfied ending that doesn't give any proper conclusion. Currently there are only a small amount of enemies that can be encountered on ships (with only 1-3 varied on each), 4-6 environmental hazards and the only a possible variation of small/medium/large versions of only 4-5 ships. But what I noticed about this game is that its content is extremely limited and can be very predictable. I already beat it and currently going through the missions as we speak, each of them being exceedingly fun on their own. I got it a couple days ago and iv'e been playing it nonstop ever since. ![]()
