For example, as a 19D fighting a war against a near-peer competitor who has tank divisions looks a lot different then doing COIN in a country we are dominating.if that makes sense?įor 15 years old you seem to be approaching this in a really mature way, good on you. In terms of what they do in combat there is a big difference between what they are doctrinally designed to do and what the requirements on the ground are. Alternatively you could sign up dreaming to be a 11B in the 101st Air Assault Division and wind up at fort bliss in a unit where armored units are the priority. You could sign up with dreams of being a 19D in a Bradley in 1st Cav and wind up in a HMMWV in the 82nd Airborne. What are your long term plans for the military? The fact you are looking at a selection based on bases is good if that’s an important factor but don’t forget the military is large. ![]()
